Horses have taught me that the strongest foundation of any partnership begins within ourselves.
Horses have always been the most important part of my life.
From as early as I can remember the only place I ever wanted to be was on the back of a horse. No matter how bad my day, once I swung my leg over everything was right with the world.
I have ridden in the mountains, spending months in the remote wilderness. Closer to home I was riding the logging roads and trekking through the bush. I thought nothing of riding 40 miles early in the morning so I could compete in a trail class, and ride home after.
In 1987, I was hired as an out-rider, by Tourism BC, riding the reenactment of the Gold Rush Trail. During this 1000+ km, 6 week ride from New Westminster to Barkerville, BC. I was responsible for looking after the wagons/teams, paying guests and their horses.
Presently, I hang my hat in the beautiful Blackwater Valley, where there is an abundance of trails, with many different terrain challenges. Living off grid provides the solitude, and way of life that is very soul satisfying for me.
I am blessed to share my life with 2 amazing horses, who are as different as night and day.
Partner UP! was created so that I could share what horses have taught me, with others. To make a difference in a human’s life, makes a difference in their horses’ life, nothing is better than that.
I look forward to meeting you on the trails of life……
Horses deserve the very best we can be.
